This is by far the most detailed and original account of the great Covenanter preacher and Martyr. Grant has painstakingly researched all the available material on Renwick and drawn it together in an inspiring and thorough biography. Renwick only preached for a short few years before his untimely death at the scaffold, yet his impact was so great that he altered the course of Scottish history, although hunted by the government, shunned by his colleagues and labelled an extremist his work was vindicated within a year of his death as the nation threw off the Stuart Tyrrany and embraced the Glorious Revolution.
