Maurice Grant, (Author of No King but Christ, Lion of the Covenant and Preacher to the Remnant,) gives us another fascinating account of one of the most renowned Field Preachers of the later Covenanting Period.  Alexander Peden studied Divinity at Glasgow University and would later fall victim to the Notorious Act of Conformity. Along with around 400 hundred of his fellow Ministers in Scotland around the year 1662, and was cast out from his pulpit. He would spend the rest of his life in hardship for the cause of Christ, even being imprisoned on the Bass Rock for four years !

This booklet is an excellent introduction to the life of ‘Peden the Prophet’ and the a look at how the persecuted Covenanters lived.
