The Holy Bible containing the Olde Testament and the New. London: Robert Barker, 1614, both titles within woodcut borders, woodcut initials, head- and tailpieces, woodcut illustrations, long tear in A2 and Aaa4, cut close at head, occasional light stainin. WITH JOHN SPEED. The genealogies recorded in the sacred scriptures, according to every family and tribe. [London: printed by John Beale, 1611?], title with woodcut royal arms, woodcut maps and illustrations including a double-page map of the Holy Land, some leaves shaved, lower corner of B4 torn away. WITH The whole book of Psalmes collected into English meeter by Thomas Sternhold, John Hopkins, and others, conferred with the Hebrew. London: for the Company of Stationers, 1614, title with decorative printed border, typeset music, lacking final leaf (presumably blank).

Bound in contemporary gilt-stamped English calf (probably by John Bateman, successor to the MacDurnan Gospels Binder), centre – and cornerpieces on a semé of small flowers, spine gilt in compartments, edges gauffered to a pointillé design, holes from two pairs of ties, binding rebacked and repaired retaining most of original spine

A complete English Bible in an attractive contemporary binding. A binding with the same stamps is Davis Gift 67, dated to c. 1613; the cornerpieces were also used by the successor to the Macdurnan Gospels Binder.

With inscriptions William and Ann Russell, of Good Easter, Essex, list of baptisms of their children between 1645 and 1682 on verso of New Testament title-page; Christopher Farmer, a gift to his grandson Jonathan Farmer, inscription on flyleaf dated 5 April 1697, and some family births recorded on rear flyleaf; E. Barlow, a gift from F. Ward, 1835, inscription on inside front cover; Clifford Baylis, bookplate; by family descent.
